                                                               THOUGHT PROCESS

Search for previous history of the similar ideas, before it infringes with any

Next step is to search for the previous history of similar ideas already protected in the past. For the first time user, i will highly recommend to take the help of expert agent.

Agents are expert people, who have a advanced software to search among the database, even they are expert in making a proper draft of your idea, less prone to rejection or objection.

When i have filed for my first patent, i have only my concept and no idea about the procedures of the intellectual filing system. I have discussed my plan with my friend, who has given me further reference of the agent dealing with trademarks and referred me the patent attorney working in the same organization he is.

Working on the feasibility

Once you know there are already protected ideas, which are not similar with yours, however infringes in the near future.
The professional attorney may help with a advice to change or modify your idea. My first idea, which i think was unique was already similar to the already protected  one. Then my agent suggested me to make necessary changes in the draft to avoid any infringement.

Filing your Patent

Next step is to file your patent application with the help of your agent or attorney.

After submission of your application, you will receive FER (first examination report) with in six months. In the report, details of findings are mentioned by the examiner or controller of patent and designs.

Looking for the scope of implementation

My idea was unique and complicated design of wheel rim for heavy duty agricultural haulage applications. Which in near future might be in use by the any OEM, since tractor may replace the commercial trucks in mining and loading applications due to it's low cost and usage in wide applications. It may create a royalty income for me in the near future, You have to think in the same way.

Search for potential markets to launch your idea

Once you know the area of application, it's now time to make a advance plan to launch your idea in to the potential markets. This is applicable, in case you are engaged in similar business.

Sometimes, after getting your idea or design protected, you can approach to someone already engaged in similar business and ask for royalty to use your intellectual property.

Your intellectual property is your asset and you should utilize it with in 15 years, after that it's free to use by anyone.

Build a road map to launch your idea

Big business can utilize the idea due to its potential of leveraging and required complicated road map or plan to build a network for sales and distribution.

For individual, the plan is to simply approach to someone who is ready to sponsor your idea or already engaged in similar business and willing to pay royalty to you.

Why you need to secure your idea before launching

Your idea is your intellectual property, if you don't secure it others will do.

My team has generated one great idea to optimize the weight of agriculture tractor rim through the process of flow forming.

We have added the process in the presentation before securing the idea, even though we were working on its proto type samples. The idea was being presented to the one of our esteemed customer by our marketing executive director. With in six months of time, the idea was being patented by our competitor, while we were testing it's proto type samples. It is of no use for us.

From that learning, it is being advised to protect your idea before it is exposed to the real world.

Feeling of granted with your first patent

I had an excellent idea, which i had been offered to my organization first. They didn't take it seriously, then i decided to secure it for my own.

The feeling of granted with your first patent, is nothing less happier than a new born baby in your hands. You would soon start to plan its future like the future of your kid.
