How to mesh a surface with square sheet with round edges :
Conventional Meshing :
In conventional meshing, we are directly mesh the geometry with a Either mixed mesh or pure quard mesh. The accuracy of results depend upon size and accuracy/quality of meshing. The quard mesh is perfect for a square or rectangular sheets, however the method demands change with respect to shape change. In this video you will see the elements error produced while direct meshing on the surface.
Customized method of Meshing :
Here you can see, how i have prepared the geometry by splitting it in to various equal segments due to make it perfectly fit for the quard and radial mesh. The center portion is scrap, therefore i have divide it with a circle and mesh it with quard meshing/conventional method. The segment with round edges to mesh first, the technique is called radial meshing, the only thing to remember is to make no's of elements equal in center and outer periphery.
Mesh all segments likewise as shown in video, would prepare a geometry with perfect quard mesh with high element quality index.
Keep practicing and enjoy.
